Has Covid changed the way we shop on Amazon?
The pandemic might seem like a lifetime ago but we are still seeing a shift in the way people are shopping on Amazon.
At the time, many of us turned to online shopping as the only way of getting food, medication and other supplies.
FUN FACT
Panic buying resulted in toilet roll sales increasing by 80% in March 2020 compared to the previous year.
KEY CHANGES
Store closures 👉 When the UK was in lockdown, physical stores were shut and people had to rely on ordering from online retailers like Amazon to get food and other household essentials.
Increase in subscription services 👉 Amazon’s ‘Subscribe & Save’ meant people could get their deliveries every week, fortnight or month, offering both flexibility and convenience.
Prime delivery 👉 50 million people signed up for Prime during the pandemic despite delivery times being a little longer than usual.
Many people have continued with getting food and other items delivered (after all, who wants to go out shopping in the rain?)
The shift to a ‘treat culture’
Is there anything better than getting home after a hard day and finding an Amazon parcel?
Even post-Covid, we are seeing more of the ‘little treat’ culture, which is a popular trend on social media, and encourages us to reward ourselves for completing dull ‘adulting’ tasks like finishing a long shift, cleaning or paying the bills.
Whether it’s relaxing with a face mask, lighting a candle or starting a new book, there are plenty of ways to celebrate the small wins in life without breaking the bank.
We are treating ourselves on Amazon because:
📦 Prime delivery means you can get it next day.
FUN FACT
This growing demand is why there are 281,257 active sellers on Amazon in the UK & 60% of all Amazon sales come from third-party sellers.

I bought these cute babyshower decorations for Nicole’s last day before maternity leave. I also got these cute lights to go under the stairs and they’re actually really good.
